James Tamargo
I grew up in the Bay Area, where I met my wife Jes. She was originally from Portola. We moved to Portola in November of 2017, then to Sloat in June of 2018.
After moving to Sloat, I joined the Long Valley Fire Department. I felt the need to do my part in helping this small community we live in. Since joining the Fire Department, I have attended the Quincy Fire Academy and Emergency Medical Responder training. I have learned so much about Fire, Medical and Vehicle Accidents.
I work full-time at Sierra Pacific Industries in Quincy. I am currently working over 50-hours per week at the Mill. Jes and I have a beautiful baby girl, Lily, who was born in July, 2019. We have two very "high strung” Australian cattle dogs. My family and I currently rent our home in Sloat, but are working towards the hope of owning the home soon.
I sometimes find it challenging to balance family, work, and the Fire Department, but, believe in the cause and do the best I can. The other Fire Department members understand the juggling of my time with my family and work. They work with me in making sure my priorities are foremost.
