Megan McCrorey
I come from a small town in Oregon where my healthcare journey began at the age of 18. Starting as a Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician while pursuing nursing school, I eventually graduated and gained experience in Medical Surgical and ICU nursing at several critical access hospitals.
Driven by a passion for leadership, I swiftly transitioned into management early in my career, culminating in the attainment of a Masters of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Leadership and Management. Currently, I proudly serve as the Chief Nursing Officer at Plumas District Hospital in Quincy.
Beyond my professional endeavors, community service holds a profound place in my heart. My journey began with volunteering at a local fire department straight out of high school, followed by joining the Coos County Medical Reserve Corps, focusing on disaster training and response. Today, I contribute as a Commissioner overseeing Plumas County Behavioral Health, striving to make a meaningful impact on our community.
I share my life with my partner Chase Nieman, a longtime Quincy resident who owns and operates Nieman Metal Works, specializing in metal and welding fabrication. During our leisure moments, you'll often find us immersed in outdoor pursuits such as boating at Bucks Lake, exploring trails on side-by-sides, dirt track racing, or snowmobiling during the winter. We have a hobby farm in Cromberg, where we raise Kune Kune pigs, Mini Nubian goats, alpacas, llamas, an assortment of poultry, and our three dogs and who knows what we will have next! Activities such as gardening, canning, and crafting handmade soap and cheese from goat's milk are additional passions that enrich my days.
